PIFRA Position Code

The Pakistani government has initiated a significant overhaul of its payroll system, shifting towards an online platform to enhance efficiency and transparency. This transition aims to establish robust control measures to combat the issue of ghost employees effectively. Each department, along with its Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs), has been assigned unique codes, referred to as Position Code.

These codes facilitate the online monitoring of staff strength and the allocation of budgets, streamlining administrative processes and ensuring accountability across government departments.

Why is the Position Code allocated in Pakistan?

Position codes are allocated in Pakistan as part of the government’s efforts to modernize and streamline its payroll system. The implementation of position codes serves several important purposes:

  • Efficiency: Position codes enable a more efficient management of human resources within government departments. By assigning unique codes to each Drawing and Disbursing Officer (DDO) and department, the system can easily identify and track personnel-related data.
  • Transparency: The allocation of position codes enhances transparency in the payroll system. It allows for greater visibility into staffing levels and budget allocations within government departments. This transparency is essential for ensuring accountability and preventing fraudulent practices, such as the inclusion of ghost employees on the payroll.
  • Control Measures: Position codes enable the government to implement stronger control measures to prevent misuse of funds and eliminate discrepancies in payroll management. By having a standardized system for identifying and verifying DDOs and departments, authorities can effectively monitor expenditures and ensure that resources are allocated appropriately.
  • Combatting Ghost Employees: One of the primary reasons for implementing position codes is to address the issue of ghost employees. Ghost employees are individuals listed on the payroll who do not actually work for the government department, allowing fraudulent individuals to siphon off government funds. Position codes help authorities to accurately verify the existence and legitimacy of employees, reducing the likelihood of ghost employees being included in the payroll.
  • Online Monitoring: With the transition to an online platform, position codes facilitate the digital monitoring of staff strength and budget allocations. This online monitoring system enables real-time tracking of personnel-related data, enhancing the government’s ability to manage its workforce effectively.

How to get a salary slip by DDO Code?

To obtain your salary slip using your DDO (Drawing and Disbursing Officer) code, follow these steps:

  • Access the Salary Slip Portal: Open your web browser and navigate to the official website designated for accessing salary slips. This portal is typically provided by the relevant government department or agency.
  • Enter DDO Code: On the portal’s homepage, locate the section where you can enter your DDO code. This code is unique to each Drawing and Disbursing Officer and is usually provided by the government department.
  • Submit Required Information: After entering your DDO code, you may be prompted to provide additional information for verification purposes. This could include details such as your CNIC (Computerized National Identity Card) number or any other relevant identification information.
  • Authenticate Your Identity: Depending on the portal’s security measures, you may need to authenticate your identity through a verification process. This could involve entering a verification code sent to your registered mobile number or email address.
  • Access Your Salary Slip: Once your identity is verified and the required information is submitted, you should be able to access your salary slip. The slip typically contains details such as your basic salary, allowances, deductions, and net salary for the specified period.
